(Almost) My new Legacy B4 RSK
Paid my deposit today, they need to service it, I need to find a good loan, should have it in two weeks, but managed to get the sales rep to take this pic for me.
Anyone know where I can get clear side repeaters from? That's the only thing about the car's design that I dislike.

Always liked the RSK's very nice cars

God I can't wait. I'm stuck in a diesel VW Bora currently, and it certainly lives up to it's name, sends me to sleep.
Anyone know a cheaper insurer than Churchill BTW, given that I have 9 points until March.

Have a look in the Insurance section for Rum* (Tom Butler). He might be able to help you out. He, through schofields, always insured my modified WRX Wagon for a very good rate, so he's worth a go.

Liverpool & Victoria or Tescos seem to provide the cheapest quotes but make sure that you repeat the fact that it is a B4 RSK!
Get H&S to sort out an exhaust for you...you wont be disapointed!!!

How come the logbook and DVLA say it's a Legacy 4CAM 2.5? is that normal for imports?

Probably because that is the nearest model they can locate as the RSK was not an offical UK model. It's quite normal, my WRX Wagon had something like Subaru Estate on the Log book and DVLA info.

Picking it up on Thursday as the immobiliser I wanted is out of stock (They were going to fit a Toad Laser Key free of charge, but I paid the £25 extra for the Toad Power Key so that I wont forget to set the thing.
I see there's a trip to Santa Pod going on next weekend, is it worth me going to find out what the car can do, or is a stock Legacy B4 Auto just going to be slow and get laughed at?

It'll be gentle
The autos are quick once going, but from a stand still, take a bit to get going.
Unless of course you go and tweak it If you are going to give it some stick, be prepared for the box to over heat, at which time it will not respond to manual shifts. There is a self protect mode, but many who drive them hard find a tranny oil cooler is a good investment.
Cheers

Even so is it still worth me going. If the people are decent I dont care if my car does crap, and it would be nice to have a decent printout to take into work on monday (and also to give it a good workout while within the 3 month warranty period )
My main need though is for overtaking 56mph trucks on SC A roads, so I've bought the right car
Can you point me at some more info about cooling the oil on it, and please remove the horrible image I now have of a hairy bloke in a dress waving a fan over my auto box :P

It's supposed to have cruise control which was the major reason I paid the extra, and they give it a 3 month warranty. I think it's 99, It's on a V plate anyway, and has lots of extras and service history.
I've not handed over the cash yet, so if you have any concerns and things I should be looking for, please let me know

Look for the usual scoob ailments. It is a grown up Rex after all. There are a bazillion hoses on the TT though, so make sure they are in decent condition and falling off etc.
Hesitation in shifts from the auto can be as small as old fluid, or more serious. If the fluid is new/clean, clunks etc are never a good sign.
Hammering the auto can see it over heat, and it will go into self protect mode at that point, when it won't respond to manual shift inputs.
Being an import, it will be looking for 100RON, so optimax is a must, + Occy booster better, tuned for UK fuel best (EcuTek). I'm a fan of the knocklink to warn of boxer killing det too...

I've had another look through auto trader as you've given me cold feet now
Average price seems to be 10-11K for a decent one, but none of them have the paddle shift on the steering which I'm rather looking forward to.
There were a couple of others on there that I would consider which were a bit cheaper, but they were both silver. You may think I'm mad, but I really really hate silver cars and the Violet Mica blue one is a lovely colour. Only other one on there in that colour is £12795 and that still doesn't have the paddle shift. Apparently this one has already been remapped as well, in addition to the service, cambelt, mot (which got me a set of new headlights)
I will however go through the list of checks pasted in this thread and pull out if any of them fail.
BTW, the sales rep seemed gobsmacked when finding out the headlights ran at 50V. I assume these are the gas discharge type?
