Morettes - Hit or a Miss?
I know they're a pretty contentious thing and that most either love them or hate them but i'll post before and after pics so you can make your own mind up.
Before
...and after
What do you reckon aesthetics wise?
I personally can't help but think i'm ruining the cleaner lines the OE headlights leave. However, the performance of the Morettes does make up for any dodgy looks. It's literally like night and day between the two! Can't wait to get the PIAA's working again, i'll be able to blind people at 400 paces!
More pics here.

Personally i think morettes look naff on classics thats just my opinion. If your happy with them then fair play to you.I think morettes are only suited to the bugeye as they are so damn ugly in standard appearance

your car looks fantastic either way (there is something about white scoobys) but if u want ur car to look agressive, morrettes definitely do that! just depends on wat u like really, i prefer morrettes and i hav them on my car, the standard lights just seem a bit plain to me

Morettes are odd, on some cars they look good but then you could have an identical car and they look pants! I do think they look good on yours though matey
If it were mine I could of happily left the OE lights on, that said I'd happily have the Morretes on too!

Normally I despise Morettes on a classic. But on white, it looks pretty good
The only thing I don't like is the way the OEM sidelight now sits there all on its own, looking incongruous. Kind of reminds me of the Mk2 Hyundai Coupe

Either way the car looks great but Im in the morrette camp. They are such an improvement over the standard lamps.

So totting up the scores we have 9 for their looks, 8 against and 4 unsure/maybe or want them painted black.
PS, flat4: they were matt black when i bought them but i still think they look a little more fussy in black. The idea of having them colour coded was to try and help them blend in?
Some interesting comments. In all honesty the only real reason i bought them was that they came up cheap locally (10 miles along the road from me).
The obvious bonus from them is the extra light but the thing i am worried about is that i am a bit of a tart and really don't want to detract from the way the 'fridge' looks. Overstyled is a good phrase and sums up my thoughts on them pretty much. I also agree with you Carl, the abandonned sidelight bugs me too.
Also, bear in mind i never had the crystal lights. Just the dodgy late-shape 'frosted' MY98 ones. If crystals had come up for £150 it'd be a different story....

Surely something can be done with the sidelights? You can actually put sidelights in the Morettes themselves, so you don't need the sidelight units. But painting them white isn't the answer -- I've seen that done and it looked pretty crap. Maybe some sort of moulded vent that apes the circular shape of the lights or something?
