We had one good day too ,the day we went to the Eden Project
We stayed about 6 miles from Newquay in White Cross. Did you go into Newqauy town in the evening ? What a dump The Walkabout was more like the gropeabout If I wasn't relaxing on holiday I could have cracked some skulls
Don't remember the hill, where was it ?

The hill the pic taken on is at the far end of the town, with a hotel on it. There is a small road leading round it. The pictures overlook towards the main town beaches. The other side looks overtowards Fistral.
We did go to the Newquay Arms a couple of the nites, but we didn't go on elsewhere as there seemed to be a lot of chavs about. It's a shame really, as it's been going a bit like that recently. Topped off with the fact the Springbok has gone and is now some shyte Barracuda place
Edit: thought u meant the hill where pic was taken. THE hill is between Newquay and Perranporth!

Yes. You go up steep hill past a grass carpark, then round the hotel.
The missus has informed me that it is indeed watergate bay in the background.

We've got some very similar photos of the same spot (except is cloudy and dark)
We walked on foot down past the harbour and around the town to Fistral Beach
All in all a good break, but agree about the chavs.

As a kid I got burnt to a crisp on Watergate. The everpresent onshore breeze made it feel pleasantly cool but the sun had other ideas The spot where you took your photo in Newquay is usually refered to simply as The Headland. IIRC the big hotel is The Atlantic.
We'll be down there in september to see how the Scoob behaves on the lanes
For a nice relaxed drink in Newquay, head for The Fort (stunning views). It's directly above the harbour (about 100 feet straight above ) but apart from that, Newquay has gone seriously down chavhill in recent times.
I prefer Padstow if you want a town. Even better though is Port Isaac for amongst the best fish & chips I've ever had (The Slipway, locally caught fresh the same morning with homemade tartar sauce and a Guinness).
Head north into Devon for Clovelly and the village that time forgot. Makes Robin Hoods bay look positively 19th century A pint from the Red Lion, sat on the harbour wall people watching is a pleasant way to waste an hour.
Must remember to go to Eden this time.

Go to Newquay area on hols at least twice a year, usually more Have visited Polzeath, and every other time we have gone to Padstow on the way home before we leave. This time however we went to Looe, as we were at an Animal sancturary nearby.

I was there last week, staying further down at Carbis Bay, near St Ives, then St Mawes (near Falmouth) for a few days. Great area!! Very relaxing... saw a few Scoobs too while we were there - anyone in Penzance or Lands End last week?
Nice girlie too!! :jealous:
Feeling a bit homesick now

We are stopping about a mile away from Rejarrah, so just as well we are taking the scoob and not the missus clio! Probably need a bit of power to get up that hill then. Give me chance to test out the new ceramic red stuff also!
We usually stop at Watergate, but they are being funny about groups, (6 lads and 1 girl) so we are stopping somewhere new this time. Had quite a few bbq's on the beach at Watergate washed down with plenty of beer!
