Default Meguairs 3 Stage Treatment

Did a test run on the missus car before i do the Scoob (which can be spotted by the eagle eyed amongst you) - now she doesn't have to do her make-up in the mirror whilst driving, she can do it by using the paintwork

There's a paint prep sort of stuff, followed by polish then Carnuba wax (preceded by a good wash and jetwash).

I'm not sure my car will come up as well, as the black has come out incredibly, but it's really good stuff, and should last a while too.

The 3 bottles cost me around £5 each from Oscotts.
Slightly better than Super Resin and Extra Gloss Protection I think.
It did take a while though, I jetwashed, washed, applied Paint treatment and wiped off, applied polished then buffed, then applied wax and waxed off - 3 hours in all.

I think Megs is the Don. I started using it about 4 months ago. The most impressive results were not on the impreza but on my 15 year old Golf Gti - it came up an absolute treat esp. after using the body scrub. and deep carnuba.

I havent got the hang of using the clay bar - you seem to have to use a lot of that detail spray to keep the clay moving. Do you break off a chunk at a time or roll it into one huge sausage?

Started using cleaner wax on mine and now use the stage 3 carnauba wax, its superb, best polish I have used in years. Reminds me of the days when I first started using Autoglym when it just arrived in the UK and wasn't available from Halfords et al. That was in the 1980's and I had to travel 30 miles to my nearest supplier! Similar story now, I have to go to Lincoln (Allwoods) or Newark (also Allwoods) for the full range, though Nancys in Chesterfield have a limited stock of the quick detailer and cleaner wax in a tub.

Thumbs up

I started using the Maguires # step last summer and was amazed at how good it was. Using the first stage, under my floodlight I could not believe how it romoved the swirl marks. Used Autoglym for the last 20 years, you can buy what I have left if you want because I won't be using it again!!!

First time i've used it.
I didn't use the clay bar - each stage is a bottle of stuff to be applied and wiped/buffed off.
stage 1 - Paint Prep - smells a bit like thinners, but much thicker
stage 2 - Polish
Stage 3 - Carnuba wax, which is really good stuff and leaves no white residue

What kind of liquid are you using with the claybar? What kind of action and size claybar are you using?

Also any peices left should come off more than easaly with the wax and polish stages of doing the car.

Oh and the best place to use is:

Using the quik detailer stuff that came with the bar. did the whole car with it on friday, although I thought the car was spotless, i could feel it lifting cack off and it gradually getting smoother as I went over and over - and the bar was covered in muck, esp after doing bottom half of doors.

hasnt lifted off all the tiny peices of what i think is baked on bird **** that's all over the bonnet though.

after I finished the last panel (rear bumper) saw the damn cat sitting on the bonnet! grr

ps - use the soft wash gel before the 3 step - it's excellent and smells pretty good too...
