The d70 is a great camera, i have one and also a juji s7000 which is another good camera. love them both.

Yup d70, and a combo of fixed 50mm 1.8, 70-200 2.8 and the 24-85 kit lens, and sb800 speedlight.

I had a fuji s602 before which was a great point and shoot, I hear the s7000 is great also.

I too have a 602 and am looking at a D70, any chance of mailing a couple of the high-res originals to me to take a look at?
Any comments on a comparison between the 2? I've read all the reviews but I'd like to hear from real person how they stack up against one another.
If these smaller ones are anything to go by, I'll be down the shops this weekend!

Hi mate, no probs, do you want to pick a couple that you particularly like???

The joy of the d70 is that you can shoot in raw mode and then use the Nikon Capture or Photoshop Raw plugin the change almost all settings, white balance, exposure level, sharpness, better than having a bloody darkroom in your house!!!

I find the 602 doesn't do blacks well but they look pretty good.
Did any of those lenses come in a bundle or did you have them already...?

The bundle comes with one of either a 24-85 or a 18-70mm. As you would expect the 18-70mm is pretty much always sold out and on order, so I got the other one knowing that I would want a bigger aperture than 3.5 for a wide angle anway.

My first recommendation would be the sb800 speedlight at £290. Its the most amazing flash and features Nikons pro creative lighting system, including remote ability off the camera, and can pan, tilt and has built in bounce card and diffuser.

Then you will need a telephoto which is where the money starts!

You can pick up a fixed 300mm f3.5 for decent money now, but most want more flexiblity and go for a 70-200 f2.8 and a 1.4x or 2x teleconverter (which makes something like a 340mm f3.5). The best glass for the money is the sigma 70-200 2.8 hsm, for about 600 quid.
