they really should.

the ride isn't compromised and all that high speed wavyness is gone. Better turn in less understeer blah blah blah.

I reckon they originally developed it with these springs and then stuck some huge spongy ones for madness' sake

Papascooby

Can you post a before and after pic? I'm wanting to do this to my MY04 Wagon in the future and just want to see the overall difference.

How much of drop do you get from the ProDrive springs?

Ordered it in black mica. Currently have a deep blue mica MY00 Turbo, but didn't like the lighter WR blue.

Question

papascooby -> Are the wheels on your WRX the standard fit wheels? Reason why I ask, is that after seeing your car I was thinking "I wish I'd ordered those wheels" (assuming the standard ones were a plain alloy colour). However, just read on subaru.co.uk '17" GUNMETAL COLOUR ALLOY WHEELS' listed for the WRX.

Here's hoping....

yeah, they're standard

Word of advice on the spring kit, they probably won't do you're 4 wheel alignment / geommetry. You MUST get this done. The improvement after is as as much of an improvement as the kit itself.

You should really wait a couple of weeks for the spring to settle to do this I've heard. I went to Powerstation in Gloucestershire (even though I live 70 miles away) as they are the guys that engineer the T25, so they know there stuff. It improved turn in, got rid of a load of understeer and I guess because of this, made the car feel lighter.

The one option you should both get, really really should, cheap and worth it's weight in gold.....

Clear foglight covers, there only about £20, I had them fitted at the first service, AFTER cracking one of my foglights

get 'em

I can also recommend the shortshift massavely too

I was having a natter with one of the salesman at my local dealer ,his advise was to get the springs done before getting a PPP pack.

Powerstation are an independent specialist - as papascooby said they setup and did a lot of work on the T25, so they know their stuff. One of the most respected firms around. They have a very good laser alignment rig. They fitted my Eibach springs and sorted out the alignment (I was suffering the normal uneven tyre wear problem, that a lot of Scoob suffer from). Since the setup was done, I haven't had a problem. The combination of the Eibach's, Powerstation setup and the stiffer new shape chassis and body have virtually eliminated understeer - highly recommended.

This is my car on 18" wheels and Eibach springs - it looks so much better

Chris

Is that a Ralytech Spoiler on your car?

If it is did you get it from DR Motorsport?

What's the quality like?

that is a nice drop! Makes the standard wheels almost look like they fit properly

How much for the springs, fitting and alignment? The spring price on the Subaru website is pretty reasonable, but is fitting a long job (wouldn't want to do it myself)

Yes, it is a Rallytech spoiler. Mine came direct from Rallytech, via my main dealer - they also did the painting (Cheam Motors have a very good paint shop).

Thing to remember with Rallytech is that they actually make parts for proper rally cars (the wing on mine is copy of that fitted to the 2000 Impreza WRC), so therefore the quality can vary a little (it isn't so important on proper rally cars, where bits are replaced on a regular basis). Cheam did reject one spoiler because of poor quality, however, the one on my car has been fitted for almost 3 years with no problems.

I haven't heard too many complaints. Also they sell a lot more road car stuff now, so I think the quality has improved. DR Motorsport have a good reputation for supplying these spoilers (I think they can do it painted aswell).

Cost wise - the springs I got from someone on Scoobynet - cost £80. Powerstation charged me about £180 to fit the springs and do a full laser geometry alignment check and setup. Not bad as this involved several hours of work. Highly recommended. You're right - you wouldn't want to do it yourself, if for no other reason that you will need to get all the alignment correct - not an amateur job!
