I think it depends on which front lights / fogs you have. If you have jewel type headlights and fogs, then jewel type front and sides.
If they are the obscure type then clear ones look better.
Just my opinion of course

DBM MY00 also - I went for the smoked side repeaters. they blend in with the paint quite well, and look a bit more 'stealthy'. I'll see if I can dig out a pic from somewhere.

On my old DBM, I had smoked side indicators:
And on the front for the MY99/00 bumper you can't get smoked indicators so I spray tinted them and sprayed the orange wedges with black satin paint:
