Why do most golfs look the same. Possibly with the exception of the R32 (which i havent seen).

The 4 Motion looks ok but doesnt look that different to any other golf

Thats what put me off a golf - the top of the range range model is near identical to the bog standard base model.

Still nice cars though - my prefered choice would be one of the 25th Aniversary GTI models - looks better than the R32 IMHO.

I had a Gti 1.8T for last few years but traded UP to MY02 WRX just a few weeks ago...here's what I can tell you about the two..

My Golf - had every extra like Heated Leather Recaro's and Climatronic wotsit. All put together very well and in 2 years I never replaced a bulb/fuse wiper blade or anything other than regular service and oil change. I also abused this car a lot but it never did anything but work perfectly each and everytime.

The Scoobs - The build quality is suporisingly good but not on a par with VW. Rattles all over the dash with only 8K on the clock!! Already booked it in with the dealer as the Heater sounds funny, the water spray does not work and the Stereo cuts out ever now and then. But it drives like a real car and makes me smile more than my boring Golf

Plus they have an R32 at my local dealer for £25.5K!!!!! How much Sti can that kinda wedge buy >!?!?!?!?

Sti or R32 let me think!

Have they changed the styling on the 4motion to mimic a classic scoob? So it looks quicker than a standard golf.
