ooh right!
mainly after a boost guage - I did really fancy one that matched the dials on my MY00 but those defi look sweet.
I was gonna place the gauge on the steering column, getting a centre pod with 3 gauges in might be ok but I find the centre cubby hole quite useful and I assume that fitting 3 gauges means you have to do without.
In particular, I was interested in the illumination - do they only show up when the ignition is on, the readings I mean - they look illuminted rather than a print on the dial (like an LCD screen)
cheers

Yes your cubby hole will dissapear and if you have a MY01-> you will lose the clock (not the flashing red light for alarm as this is taken out and put into the pod base).
The screen cover is very dark smoked glass and everything is invisible until you turn to the first click on the ignition ie radio on and defis on but you can set the defis to come on, on ignition if you like.
When the defis are on the screen readout numbers are backlit with a hint of blue and the dial in red. The whole gauge doesn't light up, its just the figures and the dial only.
Obviously you would get the control unit II which again lights up and you can set your peaks, warnings and even record about 40 secs of performance and replay it. Another beauty of it is that you can get any defi gauge to daisy chain into the control unit

Its the Nitosport one in plain black (matching dash). You can get them colour coded and i think Nitosport do a carbon fibre cover for them.
I believe it looks really nice when you stick the carbon fibre on (nice fit). There is a thread on here somewhere from someone who has done it.

I think you are referring to my mobile phone car kit
Its the 6310 car kit. No it doesn't obscure anything in the cabin other than the little removable security block thingy for the radio.

Pete,
Ta for that - I was wondering as I've just ordered an iPAQ for sat-nav and am probably getting a smartclip / passive holder (as it's one of the few ways of fastening them on as I don't like window / dash suckers etc)

Just a thought for the future. I'm thinking about getting an 'A' Pillar pod, which gauge would be best to get......
Oil Pressure
Fuel Pressure
Water Temp (dont really see the need for this though)
