Talking

Hey all, picked up some these wheels second hand. Used to have gold ones but quite like these now:

While I was fitting them I upgraded the brakes at the same time with the later 4pots, braided hoses and some GroupN disks:

Only thing is that the new caliper sits very close to the wheel as you can see in this picture:

I would say it was about 1-2mm away from the spokes. Is this too close (i.e. do I need a spacer), the reason I got new wheels was a) for the tyres and b) because the old ones wouldn't clear the 4pots. I'm sure that when I've looked on other cars the calipers have seemed really close to the wheel - none of it should move after all!

Ideas/opinions?

Jamie

No Brun - I disagree - green and gold is an awesome combination! Pity that you changed to silver Jamie...

As for clearance, shouldnt be a prob.

You shouldn't havew any trouble with it being that close, keep an eye on the paint, if it dissapears then fit a spacer!!

Yep, should be no problem with that space. Mine are about that close too and had never trouble with it.

I thought they would be ok, it just looks too close for comfort! I'll keep an eye on the paint like you said RON, that should be a good indicator of any problems.

I am a fan of Green & Gold but I just fancied a change. Although I would have kept my old whees had they fitted with the bigger brakes.

Also, does anyone know where I can get some stickers for the centre caps? It appears to be a standard size.

Well actually there will be some expansion when they get hot, but looking at that youve got enough clearance Jamie, should be fine

Lol @ RF

In that case, do you know who the other ones belong to - LF, RR and LR?

Jay - they look very ...everyone does green and gold, I think I prefer them

The STi7 has about that much clearance, so as everyone else said I think you'll be fine

Looking good!
