Cool

And I thought white STi 8's were rarer than hen's teeth

A couple more red ones

And a famous rock star in a pea green racing suit

Go on then...one of me

I beleive they belong to Scuderia Ecosse (as per sunstrip on lower car in trailer )

Some young guy who did not look old enough to have a driving licence was caneing it around during lunch before giving Rick the keys for a lap or two then the photoshoot

Alas, it was mine for all but a few seconds

Due to bad weather, our time on track was limited to being driven round by the Pro's - Bloody H3ll, can the guy from Prodrive drive!!! - but I did get three laps behind the wheel of a standard MY03 WRX wagon for my first ever go on track

All the pictures of the day can be found here

Question

Looks good! Was it organised by Subaru or a garage - I notice some of the pics have STis with "promotional" number plates?

It was done by Subaru UK with Dealers inviting a select few lucky customer...just don't ask how I got an invite

The Black STi 8 on 18" wheels with the "promo" numberplate is a special Prodrive tuned STi with a bit more than just the PPP - putting out over 300bhp and by god could the Prodrive works driver make it shift If you know Knockhill, imagine going down through corner one at the end of the pit straight sideways

This sounds like the same guy that won the Maranello Challenge at Oulton Park not so long ago.I spoke to one of his colleagues because I wasn't convinced that such a young lad was old enough to drive (Let alone a Ferrari 360 ).His name is Lewis Carter and I think he's something like 19 years old and a **** hot driver as he completely destroyed the field

Did you see his face or did he have his lid on? (The lad is on the left in the pic)

Nick

Yep - there was a scottish flag in the rear quarter window and the name indeed was CARTER

I think the other guy in your picture is also one of the Instructors who works at Knockhill that I went round the track with
