Thumbs down

Here are the pics from our Finnish Lapland and Northern Norway tour from October 2001 - my friend Janne driving my car "quite" fast, when suddently *WHOP!* Where did that sparrow go?! After an hour, a few feathers near the bonnet scoop got our attention, and what did we find?

Well aimed, huh?

ei saa peittää works quite well here.

It's a bit expensive getting caught speeding in Finland isn't it...and bearing in mind the Scoob is quite easy to get rolling...

Cheers

Stevencotton, Yeah, the bird must have died right away - since it probably hit partly the right edge of the bonnet scoop at ~80mph'ish - we didn't even notice it flying there at that speed - only reactions were "wow, that bird went really close...", since usually they just bounce up from the airflow... but this was a definite proof that some serious airflow is going through the scoop hole too.

Yes, it was an import bird which was then smuggled illegaly to Finland. Sorry about that.

We knew that speeding is very expensive in Norway too - and you have to pay your ticket _immediately_, with a credit card... at least if you're a tourist? The chances of running into a police patrol in where we were speeding, however, were one to a million.
(well, you never know when you win )

How do they police remote roads in Norway then? I didn't see any speed cameras or anything in the places I've been to (Oslo, Drammen, Bergen & Larvik). Lot of nice birds though, and I'm not talking about the kind you like to murder

Hi Steve,
They are hiding in the bushes.....
But seriously, if you've been driving Oslo-Drammen-Larvik, you have
had the pleasure of trying what I believe is the most frequently
patrolled road in Norway. Lots of cameras there too, so I'm
imprezad if you didn't see any signs of big brother.
