Scooby on a Beach
#1
I just returned from a week's holiday in Florida, a trip of 2,303 miles. (I measured 25.5 mpg.) The Outback carried three people and luggage for a week, no problem. Crossing over the Appalachian Mountains, with steep grades and sweeping curves, I was able to make passing maneuvers while in neutral at 80 mph.
But by far the most fun was at Vilano Beach, just outside St. Augustine, FL. I bought a permit to drive on the beach, and the car was able to navigate even the softest sand. I played in first and second gears, making power slides among the tracks through the dunes. Had so much fun my pee pee got hard.

That's my 1998 Outback, named Gojira, aka Godzilla, aka The Lizard.
It's a raised version of the Legacy. The suspension sits a few inches higher. The roofline is raised, too; I don't know why. Do they sell that body style in the UK? I haven't seen a pic of one here yet.
Excellent all-around family car.
