Yeah it is a bit ugly admittedly but the WRC headlights are a serious improvment compared those morette which just look out of place with its slanty eyed lights.
Thank god I bought the last of the good looking impreza my2000 because I knew I just couldn`t live with look or downgrade in performance. O.K. Subaru wants too aim for a different market ie Girlies and company reps but thats the way of the world these days profit margins, more general appeal.
I only hope Subaru get their act together when it comes to the third overhaul otherwise I will have to defect to another brand.

Your comment about the last of the line made me chuckle. I'm in Queensland at the moment and it seems like a lot of people over here pulled the same cunning stunt with the Cortina.
Is the performance really a downgrade? I've owned both and get from A-B quicker now I'm sure, yeah I miss impressing my mates with the kick in the back but does that make it fast?

I`m fairly sure the performance is a downgrade in some respects. My own car is 5dr impreza Turbo2000 with no mods at present but the key issue seems to be that the new Turbo is more sound proofed, had better cabin space, Air con but the extra weight does seem to be a major problem.
Having driven a demonstator New Turbo Saloon with a Prodrive 300UK Ehaust fitted, It seemed to be noticebly slow when driving at 70 dropping to 4th for an overtaking manouvre up a fairly steepish hill. Yeah I could have dropped it to 3rd but I didn`t want to damage the demonstrator. This Car felt faster to 60 maybe but beyond that it was struggling somewhat in comparison to my 5dr which is strange considering a free.er flow exhaust system and being a saloon.
Maybe its just the unrefined old cabin letting in more noise and a different gearing ratio that makes it seem faster. Also I didn`t like the numb feeling of the steering, It didn`t feel darty or responsive and at time I hadn`t got a clue what those tyres were up to but on the plus side the gears were smoother ie no kick in the kidneys if you know what I mean which you probably do.
