My little precious motor...well its mine.

Lovely Mica black, GOLD wheels and Series McRae interior.

Seriously broke it last year, so now running Cosworth Pistons and APEXI boost management.

The engine compartment needs a little TCL, the strut brace is looking a little tatty after the Intercooler blew off and bashed against the brace.... Thats what 25PSI did

Nice one

Shiny dump valve. oooooh!!!

Are they series McRae wheels too?

Is that engine clean or what? Is that from the rebuild or have you steam cleaned it? Not that I'd recommend it!!

Colour coded too

Iain.

Yep Series McRae wheels.
Strange motor really. Its an ex-demo car (no-one say anything...) with another owner B4 me. Full McRae interior with door cards...everything.

When I got it 3 years ago it went like stink then ~ supposedly standard. Now its "slightly modified" with the new pistons, metal head gaskets and the APEXI boost and fuel stuff.

She's had a few troubles. 2nd gearbox, any amount of AP Paddle clutches. 3 turbos. Original turbo was replaced for a smaller one so less lag during Hillclimbing.

Great car ~ still going well with 63k on the clock...mine you which bit has done 63K I couldnt say.

Hmmmmm Apexi BoV...... expensive but looks and sounds excellent.

Cheers
Mark.

I don't Hillclimb the Subaru any more as it cost a small fortune in repairs everytime something went wrong..and it did go wrong

Now I Hillclimb a much older Pug 205 GTi which is a right little screamer
Totally different sensation to drive than the Scoob as the power is from 4500 to 7500 in the Pug (Mad Mad cam!).

Seems safer too with a proper cage. Great cheap motorsport fun.

Not too sluggish either at 148bhp at the wheels

Great fun with a full throttle gear shift system so you can just keep your foot on the throttle...VERY noisy sound just like early 90's anti lag systems

It re-defines "on demand power oversteer".

During the practice sessions in the morning where times don't count its mostly driven by looking out of the drivers side and passengers side windows

Looks wonderful when driven "Penti Airikkala" style.

Hi Rum,

Sunday 10th June. Meeting starts properly at midday (or there abouts) with the practice sessions from about 09:30.

Subaru will be there, just as a non-participant. Will be in my mad little Pug.

Hopefully my ex-competitors in Class 3 (Black Sti with FMIC, HKS Dustbin lid, sorry HKS turbo) will be there, along with a mate in a spectacular Saphirre Cosworth... (Flame suit on ) Very Fast Cosworth which ran just shy of 40PSI at the last meeting.....

See ya there.

Mark
