Andy-D,
Thanx - wheels are currently being repainted titanium (as I have to wash brake dust off every two/three days). Car gets better and better, and I thought about changing it for a BMW M3/328 Sport, but nothing better than giving the Scoob full moo on country lanes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Denz,
Changed all the orange indicators on the car to clear, personally I think it brings the car 'upto date' as it is a 1994 model. Clear lenses look good on any car and Range Rover are offering drivers the facility to change front, side and rear lenses for a 2000 MY upgrade for about £200, lots of manufacturers doing it.

Denz, lowering springs cost £140 and the car is rock hard on the susension (I like it that way) turn in and body roll is slightly reduced but when I fitted a front strutbrace for £45 it made all the difference, car handles like a go kart.
Never ceases to amaze me how quickly you can take corners.
With all modifications it is important to get them all working together. Brakes, suspension, exhaust, wheels, tyres, induction kit, quick shift have all be uprated/changed on my car and it goes like stink and looks great.
I will post new pictures when the car is returned with titanium coloured wheels.
PS I am 32 years old married and pretend to be a boy racer. hee hee hee.

Etheridge-bird,

I apologise for being ignorant , but what do you mean about this Range Rover thing and clear rear light clusters for £200.

Please put me out of the dark!!!!.

Cheers,

Muddy.

Alot of new model cars e.g BMW 3 series have clear indicator surround with an orang bulb.
The new 2000 model Range Rover has smoked lenses front and rear.
If you change all the orange lenses to clear it brings the car up to date, and if you have a private number plate this can hide the age of the car. For example you can make a 1995 325i 3 series BMW look like a T reg - if you want. Hope this answers your query?

Sorry me being stupid again, because in your reply you stated 2000 MY I thought of Impreza's, while you were talking about Range Rovers!!!.

I already have the front and side clear indicators, just thought i could get a rear set cheap, but because I cannot read properly that is not going to be the case.

Cheers anyway,

Muddy.

Hi E Bird

Looking at your very nice car has made me realise just how orrible the new model is.Your car should look dated by comparison but it looks loads better.

I think the problem is with the new Scoob is the current model has not radically changed in six years, and the new model should have been an 'evolution' of the current. I am sure the new model will grow on people given time.

Current owners have a car that still looks fresh and you very rarely see a tatty one (even though some are 5-6 years old).

E.B. stop putting piicies of yours on here coz it is making me sick.
P.S. Can you give me your freinds no (Mr Paint man) as i have now decided to have mine brought back up to scratch.
Jim.
P.P.S. Thanx for the negatives (nudge nudge wink wink)

RaymondH,

Springs fitted were a lowering kit (not sure of manufacturer) but I am having an Eibach Prokit fitted next week, as the current springs are too hard for my liking - car looks good but at sacrifice of comfort (maybe I am getting older)?

P.S. For the springs fitted in photos, cost was £140.00 from Regal 023-8079-1000

Wink

Gethin,

Car is a 1994 'L' registration WRX with 48,000 miles, and since the photos have been taken I have had the wheels painted titanium (stops brake dust from showing).

I thought imports had the aerial on the rear quarter (passenger side) but not mine (?)

Can't wait to see your picture with the wheels in titanium. I also own a black STI V5 but cannot decide to have the upgrade 17" wheels in silver or anthracite. I cannot find good pictures with silver or anthracite wheels on a black scooby.
