now take off the 17's and fit steel 16's???? Why would anyone buy it like this?

Let me explain:

You buy them like this then strip em out and rally em. they sell em like this so the rally types arent left with a garage full of tarty interior, flashy wheels etc and also it makes putting your rally car together much cheaper ie you only buy what you really need.

The rally version doesnt have the spoiler if you look, and the scoop is for keeping the intercooler cool, so thats quite necessary.

I assume the water reservoir in the boot is for the intercooler spray(?). At last Subaru may have realised that the original (smaller) res under the bonnet doesn't last two seconds!

dhorwich, nice spot on the window handle!

And yes, the 206kW sounds right as this is for japanese spec fuel. For europe and australia they are detuned for use on lower grade (98 ron) fuel - and hence a drop in power output to 195kW; as the current STI has.

Looks very nice though - cant wait for a testdrive

Very sweet, I saw the STI at the Motorshow very nice although I still perfere the classic shape scooby

Still only 280ps my ****, 394nm = 291lbs ft torque, now that's the figure that gets my attention.....

230 of those feet arrive waaay low down the rev range - that apexjapan.com story sums it up!
