How the hell can I turn Black to Silver in Photoshop?

I'm trying to colour code the side skirts, mirrors and handles, but it is a complete botch up when i do it 
Anyone want to have a go
.. I'm going to try and get a better defined picture tomorrow !
If any photshop gods are bored, you could lower it and stick a set of 17" of these on

Door handles are for girls. As are rear doors, fuel filler caps, headlamp washers, windscreen washers, mirrors and of course indicators. Pretty uch anything that's vaguely difficult to colour code in photoshop really.
