Default My Bug Wrx.

Hi Chaps i thought id share my progress on my wee Wrx.

Before i start this isnt a big Hp forged build nor a show and shine Queen, far from that infact

I bought this car in May as i had booked to go to the Ring for a weekend in September in my current R32 but soon realized how boring the German was, So the hunt began for a Sti with a budget capped at 10K i searched high and low for a rust free car, i looked at a dozen examples from private to importers and inquired in over 100 cars but within my price bracket there was just poor examples.. Frustrated and fed up after aa further wasted trip to another importer i came home and took the misses out for dinner and this little bug was for sale right there!.It was supporting a few chav parts but had a good solid shell and couple of usable parts, the service history was good and had tons of petrol receipts showing high octane only used.Someone in its past had given it it a very decent underseal protecting it so i ended up buying it just for my ring trip.
The car itself was stock powered and had all 3 cats still in place just a prodrive rear box fitted. but had a full godspeed brake package and hell lines.
The car as i came home that evening..

I set about De-chaving it. So the spoiler went as a poor copy, tow hook, light tints of the fogs.
I had the boot holes welded over and Morette covers redone. and had a oem sti scoop done aswell.

But soon as i fitted these i soon realized it wasn't the look for me so a new set of lights where fitted to mosts disgust i reverted back to stock looking.

I gave the Car a good service/Birthday. so went and fitted -
Blobeye Koyo rad and oem hoses/clips
Oem crossover pipe and hoses/clips
Millers oil,box/diff oil and millers coolant
oem oil/fuel filter,Cosworth panel filter,
walbro 255
New oem maff for safe measure
later plastic header tank
Grade 7 plugs
Scorpion 2nd decat and non res 2.5 center pipe
all oem gaskets and bolts for the above
Hardrace engine mounts
Twin scroll sump conversions
polybushed rear trailing arms
recon the rear diff as had a oil leak so fitted all new oem seals/ bolts
Prodrive intercooler pipe from the PPP upgrade
STI Group N box mount, pitch stop, cradle bushes and gear stick cushion
superbro gear stick main bush
Perrin 22mm rear arb and whiteline soild arb mounts
Ditched the team dynamics in favor of Satan black v7/8 sti rims with RE070 tyres,

https://i756.photobucket.com/albums/...pssym72gtx.jpg

Took the car to Germany and it was fault free bar cooking the brakes, i managed to get 5 laps in running Mid 9mins.

Loved the car so once home i thought il keep it now and start improving areas.
Brakes where 1st.
Hatch Brembs where bought in excellent condition.
PFC Z rated pads
Hight carbon brembo discs
new oem bolts.
The rear ive sourced cosworth track master pads but yet to fit as planned to overhaul the rear calipers and source new discs.

I refurbed the inlet crinkle black, replated the bolts and fitted all new gaskets, dtiched the TGV flaps,

Sourced Sti pink injectors sent them off to injectortune for a clean and calibration report and fitted all new seals
sourced a VF35 and all new oem gaskets and water lines.
Forge turbo jacket,
Harvey smith up pipe 44mm bore
prodrive harnessed 3 port
2.5in decat downpipe heatwrapped
heatwrapped the oem headers
ditched the A/C
Fitted a HD RTS clutch and 5.5kg flywheel
GFB crank pulley
GFB BOV.
OBP 3port catch can
new alternator and gates belt

Suspension.
I went for Bilistein B14
Whiteline Com C front top hats
Genuine Rear Sti Rear Top hats
Whiteline roll correction kit
Refurbed alloy arms with CDf ALK and superpro front bush
all new nuts and bolts to fit the above
new oem drop links
Sti group n diff mount bracket
carbon front brace
Super pro front arb mounts.

Fitted some Wrc Style mirrors for external change, private plates on,

Inside it had a double din from halfords so removed and fitted an oem single din, spec c radio blank, and a jdm hazard switch.

fitted some Sti V7 clocks for the shift lamp.
and this leaves me up to date,
The car is yet to be mapped but im hoping for around 320/ 330hp and il be tackling the suspension over the next few weeks,
the rear end needs renewing now so i know its all tight,
looking forward to 2019 doing some track days and the odd sprint/hill climb where i can.
cheers for reading,

Very nice looking motor, great colour and some great mods.
Not sold on the mirrors BUT I can see the benefit of them.
What do those STI gearbox braces do or better still what difference do they make and any pic's of them fitted?
Cheers
