Default Spec C type RA

So, I've had my hawk STi (UK) for a year now. It's been faultless and a great car, but I fancied a change, something a bit more raw. I have previously owned a JDM non-widetrack STi, and, after 6 months of ownership, I still didn't see what all the JDM hype was about.....until I drove the Spec C type RA. It's hugely driver-focused compared to any other Impreza I've had (this will be my 6th). I won't rabbit on too much now, will write a more in-depth overview when I pick it up and have given it a good drive. I will also take some good pics when I've detailed it! However, I would like to take this opportunity to give Max at Hurst Cars a big thanks. Absolute top bloke and a genuinely nice guy to boot. He was totally honest about the car on the phone before I had made the trip up, pointing out a few little imperfections. The test drive was excellent and Max encouraged me to push the car and test it properly. The car itself was in excellent condition, and the few small imperfections (that I knew about because of Max telling me on the initial phonecall) will be sorted before I pick it up. All in all, a brilliant experience and Hurst comes thoroughly recommended.

Cheers guys,

Have to agree Banny. Strangely, one of the first things that stood out when I first saw it was the lack of side-skirts. To the trained eye, it sticks out like a sore thumb, but in a good way lol. It has a great stance as standard too, the alloys help a lot on that one.

Only an idiot would want to stick skirts on it.

Same look as my old red blob spec-c, perfection

You can talk about the difference between STI's and spec c's but until you drive one you'll never understand

Agreed. I really didn't rate my old JDM. There was nothing wrong with it, made good power etc but just didn't do it for me. This is a completely different car

Ordered some nice bits for it today (I will keep updating this list throughout the day as I order more parts.

New pioneer stereo
Genuine Subaru DIN pocket
Genuine STi rad cap
JDM red hazard switch
Genuine STi gearknob
McGuard Genuine STi wheelnuts
Some high quality mats

I am in 2 minds wether to buy some Kaylan mudflaps (the good ones) or not.

Hi bro has it got the quick steering sticker at the rear window on yours? If your going to get one let us know you might get cheaper if 2 are bought together from somewhere maybe as they are abit pricey

Hey mate,

It doesn't have the sticker, but then it also doesn't have a rear wiper so I'm not sure the sticker is even on it from the factory?

My MY07 Spec C doesn't have the quick rack sticker, but it does have a quick rack as standard and it doesn't have a rear wiper. It shouldn't have one either

Peedee if you want to learn more about your car, then the only place to get the proper information is www.type-RA.com

Cos of anally retentive owners who change them if they get scratched
...they also sell the racks to upgrade to so that's probablly the real reason
No Hawks came with them...blobs were the last to have them but not sure if the widetrack had one...I know my 03 did

Aaaah ryt
So why do they sell the red JDM hazard switches separate and not put them on all jdm's as std or at least the sti's as standard even on the spec C's or even the type ra-r's leaving the owners to put a jdm item on a jdm car still does not make sense bro

My 03 JDM had one aswell, so presumably they stopped them with the widetrack? Weight-saving

Very nice car,
I have the same gear **** and really like the feel of it, but on a cold winters morning it's like putting your hand on a ice cube.

I'm having real trouble finding info on this version guys. There doesn't seem to be barely anything over on the Type RA forum. Info on the non-widetrack blob and hawk Spec C RA seems in abundance, but VERY little on the widetrack blob?? Is it really that rare?
