Default MY93 WRX RA

Hi All,

Thought it was about time I put some pics up of my second Impreza, I picked this up a few months back and promptly sold my UK turbo, I've been busily working on sorting the RA since :-)

I know it won't be to everyone's taste but early cars seem to be gaining more interest these days, for me a pre-facelft RA is as good as an impreza gets, raw and purposeful. As I understand it the 93 RA is the lightest of all production WRX GC8's and also has the shortest ratio gearbox found on any production WRX.

Anyway, pictures :-)

Lovely car there, what's your plan with it? Mod it or keep standard? If you're selling spoiler I'd be intrested

Keep it as standard as you can and it will only go up in value.

Thanks for the comments guys! I should of mentioned this is my only car, so is my daily :-) keeping it stock would be the most sensible in terms of future value etc etc, but i'm into driving not collecting, and RA's were never meant to remain standard, a blank canvas with the right basics to then be modified for their intended purpose.

The other thing is that a stock car from 1993 is fairly underwelming these days, even the way tyres alone have come on in recent years means performance can easily be pushed beyond what would of been expected of the car 21 years ago.. so mine has been modified to maintain the balance, with upgrades to chassis first and foremost followed by a few engine mods.

Future plans include Hardrace rear arm kit, 304mm 6 pot K Sport big brake kit, Mishimoto radiator, Whiteline rear arb stout mounts, to fit the Hayward and Scott sports-cat I have here, plus a few other bits, as well as a shed load of preventative bodywork stuff!

Anyway here's the full spec as it stands.

Engine/Gearbox

Original closed deck block engine - coming up to 197,000km!! :-)
Exedy 230mm Blue Box clutch
TY752VB3DA gearbox from 94 RA (same ratios as 93)
Hardrace full engine/gearbox mount set
New cam belt and rocker cover gaskets
New gear linkage bushes and gearbox oil
NGK PFR7B plugs
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Newage coil pack mod
Samco Y pipe
Apexi Power Intake induction kit
Polar Performance chipped V5 ECU
Silicone radiator hoses
New radiator
Replacement PAS pump
ATE superblue clutch fluid
New clutch slave cylinder
New coolant temp sensor
heatwrapped OE up-pipe
Decat 3" to 2.5" downpipe - soon to be replaced with H&S sports cat
Magnex 2.5" exhaust
Millers 10-40 fully syth and black Subaru filter

Chassis

New KYB Excel-G shock absorbers all round
Standard WRX springs
Whiteline anti-lift kit
Eibach rear camber bolts and fast-road geometry by FB tuning
Whiteline 30mm steering rack bushes
Whiteline 22mm rear anti-roll bar with Whiteline ali droplinks
Whiteline 22mm front anti-roll bar with Super-Pro ball joint type droplinks
Subaru smooth type 4 pot calipers with pagid pads, uprated discs all round
ATE superblue brakefluid
Speedline Preo-R 16 x 7s et48 with 5mm hubcentric spacers
Toyo R1R 205/50R16 tyres all round

Interior

OMP WRC steering wheel with 60mm B&G spacer
CD player with front door speakers only
Factory fitted air-con
Otherwise original including Impreza mats

Exterior

230 feather white
front fog covers
Clear front indicators/side repeaters

Cheers guys,

Avery I love the roof vents but concious that I don't want it to look like an STi wannabe, plus its a lot of work and obviously irreversible! Externally I'm pretty happy with how it is now, apart from as Tim mentioned perhaps orange indicators/side repeaters.. I have some from my old car but not happy with the condition of them, if I go back to orange I'll try and track some new ones down from ICP or something.

Think that's the first pic I've seen of your car, looks very smart! :-) I probably will go back to orange indicators, though Ideally I want to tackle the whole front lights in one go, one side light and one headlight have chips in so I'll probably end up buying new sidelights, some mint headlights and new indicators/side repeaters.

As always though there's a list of bits to do and these aren't at the top at the moment!
