Default My Classic WRX Import

Just over a year ago I joined the forum and posted pictures of my new purchase and was made to feel very welcome.

Shortly after buying the car it broke down and needed a new engine which really was depressing.

After months of staying in, saving money and hard work it has finally paid off!

A big thank you to RGS Motorsport in Wellingborough for all their hard work. Would highly recommend!!!

So I thought I would start a new thread to show my progress so far and to continue to share the progress over the coming months.

I can't wait to get back into the forum to look at ideas and tips.

When I first bought the car

Painted the wheels

Then it broke down 😭

Comments and suggestions always welcome 😊

Nice mate looks loads better with standard lights, and respraying the alloys white was a nice move too.

Back to original, or black crystal all lights. Unsure at the moment.

The block was £2200 delivered. Plus about £3500 for the rebuild with clutch, trailer costs, cam belt kit, oil pump etc. Plus around £2000 for the MOT (welding, tyres and brake upgrade)

May seem a lot of money but well worth it to have a strong engine, solid chassis and upgraded brakes

Yeah just short of £10,000 overall. People will call me mad but to me it's like having a brand new Impreza with uprated parts so I can push for power with better reliability. To me that's £10,000 well spent, to the mrs Thats a house deposit! I just didn't want to give up on it, I've scrapped too many cars in the past, I just couldn't do it to this car.

Yeah I do love it, I didn't want to spend 5 or 6 grand on a car and it still blow up. Besides i spent £1000 on fuel in the first month I owned it, so I'm used to it costing me a lot of money.

FMIC, fuel pump, remap. Tidy the bodywork and interior up. Then start looking at 6 speed gearbox. Moving on to bigger turbo, injectors, remap again. The usual lol
