idle too high?

Can't comment for all years but I have a 2006 Hawkeye. Idle is about 700rpm when engine is warm. Fast idle when engine cold is about 1400-1500rpm but soon drops to 1000 and then 700-ish rpm.
Is controlled by the ecu on hawk but again not sure on older cable throttle models.

Cheers pal, cold start it's around 2k but after a few mins warm up its around 1400 (it's also a 94 import) smells a bit rich too
On another note... Would I benefit from a boost controller and turbo timer?

things which will affect idle:
check throttle cable is not too tight on manifold.
check iacv valve position.
check tps position with a volt meter on the ecu.
check for air leaks.
