Default Bug Wagon, STi 8 Skirts,New Wheels & JDM Grill Fitted. N

Been after another Impreza for a few weeks. Found a few on the internet but they were either really high mileage, Far away from me or the seller only had the Green new keepers slip of the Log book.

This morning I decided that I fancied having a look at one that was after a swap for my lexus & wasnt too far away.

I ended up swapping it.

2003 Bug, In silver, 102k with full history, 2 Owners, 2 sets of keys & key fobs, All manuals, Fully standard & not messed with (Yet!)

My missus wasn't too impressed in me going for another (Had 4 already) so I compromised & bought a totally standard wagon (Told her it was a sensible car)

She just hated the rear spoiler on the last saloon I had.

No doubt a few "Small" changes will be happening

My missus doesn't notice things anyway. On my last one I went from standard wheels to the PPF prodrive ones in anthracite & she didn't even notice.

She would rather I spend money messing with the car instead of going out on the beer at weekends

Went down to see Jake today & ended up doing this

Sounds a lot better than the standard one that was on it but may want a centre pipe soon to give a little more sound to it.

Had a fun time fitting it, Think it still had its original exhaust from new so all bolts were rusty & needed cutting off.

Didn't want to change the standard Radio so ended up buying a Parrot MKi9200 Hands free kit for it.

Had to order the correct SOT lead so its easier to fit. Fitted it tonight when I got home, Just need to put all my music onto memory stick now & its all good to go.

Been driving around with the Grill & skirts in the back of the car for the last week so since it was a nice day I thought I would have a go at painting the grill.

Stripped the mesh off it & masked the black bits up

Flatted it down with 1000 grit paper & gave it a coat of silver

Slowly dried the paint between coats with a heat gun, Gave it 6 coats in total.
Then got some clear coat laquer on it & did the same with dring in between coats, This time I did 7 coats

Its currently sat in the conservatory baking as its like an oven in there.

Started stripping the donor car about 11:30 this morning, Manged to get the complete front end off including the arch liners (minus the Bonnet) in a couple of hours,

As the weather wasn't too bad & I could get the front end into the Garage I thought I may aswell get the Wagon stripped & do the swap over.

Wings going on (I know I need some weedall for the drive but I don't normally use this drive way to park on)

All finished & washed off

Colour match is quite good

The front bumper has had a bad paint job at some point so I want to get that re-done, But other than that Im happy with how it turned out.
