Default wires for cutoff shield

hoping someone can help. Like many on here, ive done a retrofit on my classic headlights. Main wirings not the problem ,just the ones that activate the cutoff shield.Am i right in thinking that i can connect them to the wires going from oem lighting loom to the main beams ??

Are we talking HID projectors?

The kit I got from the Retrofit Source simply had a pair of two-pin connectors, already connected to the H4 wiring.

Basically, you need the cutoff shield to lift (it's upside down) when you want main beam.
A circuit tester may help.

Hmmmmmm.

I'd check before removing.

The ones I got, Morimoto Minis, were clearly marked "TOP".

Where'd you get yours? And how much?

Mine were around £230 delivered from the USA

wanted those but got some similar from ebay and ,at only 33 quid thought it was worth the risk. Havent had to dismantle them as i checked with a torch first and everything is how it should be. Only problem is now i cant get the ball back into the socket on the adjustment mechanism lol

And ur point is??? just cos an item , whatever it is or for what purpose , started out as an idea that comes to fruition. if noone takes a chance with that product it wont survive. Ferrari had to start somewhere as did all products. If no one had taken risks with unknowns ,where would we be.? morimoto proj may be good and have a good reputation but that reputation was only gained by people buying their products. Fair enough , if my projectors only last 6 months , then i made a mistake. light output is very good ,so much better than the chavvy projectors i had.

Fair enough.

But my point is, I KNOW electrics and can sort most problems myself, but still bought quality and the fitting was half an hour once I'd got the projectors in place.

your call.

Hear what youre saying and i take your point. Idont doubt your knowledge and bow down to that. All i was saying was that until people b uy a product ,or service, the quality or reliability of that product or service cant be tested and appraised. The probs sorted now anyway as all it needed was the correct harness and switching relay

Get them hosted on the internet, someone like Photobucket.

Then, when posting, click the photo icon, and paste the direct link from Photobucket into the window that opens.

Like this:

That's the cutoff on my Morimotos.

looks really good that. Havent had time to fine tune the output. Had to remove both lights and adjust the rotation which is still slightly out . Taking it out later behind the school and use a nice flat wall to set up anything else. Seems to be a very good cutoff , andgood distance. will try with photos but cant promise lol

Mine were an absolute doddle to fit, needing only two small bits of the lower part of the "reflector" in the original lights, removed, to let them sit horizontal/level.

To be honest ,before id got them, i was looking at info on fitting and doing retrofitting on here, on HID planet and others and was wondering if i had bitten off more than i could chew. .But i can honestly say ive enjoyed the job. Far easier than id imagined . The only little problem i have is that one of the headlights didnt come with a levelling motor . I bought one only to find that the socket where the adjuster fits has broken so im either going to fix it somehow or get another light . oh joys

If you need levelling motors, I have a pair spare.

Thanks but my motors are ok. Its the little socket that the steel ball fits into on the end of the adjuster shaft. It had moved out of position somehow and stopped the light being able to adjust
