Key symbol flashing
Hello all, 2001 bugeye, since changing the battery the key shaped light flashes when the car is locked, and when I leave it unlocked it still flashes, I dont remember this happening before i changed the battery, i had to lock the doors manually with the key, as the alarm had drained the battery, hence buying new battery, It has the standard subaru fob with 1 button which locks and unlocks the car, which I presume is the immobliser , when I connected the new battery the alarm did not chirp, any Ideas what to do to stop the key symbol flashing?

Does this symbol not mean its immobilised? I think it automatically arms the immobiliser after so long of not being started. As soon as you put the key in it should deactivate and start.

Thanks, it starts and runs fine and does not flash when running. If I went outside now and looked through the window the immobiliser red light (near the clock) and the key symbol ( near the speedo/rev counter) would be flashing, I use the fob attached to the key to unlock and lock the car.
