Default glue type stuff inside headlight

Have what looks like glue on the inside of my light on the reflective bit where the indicator bulb goes, this is in both lights on the indicator part. Would it be possible to remove it at all??

Also the lights look like they have a yellow tinge to the light, looks as if its on the inside, anyone know best way to clean the inside of the lens?

Thanks

VERY, VERY difficult to remove.

You are going to have to split the unit to get at it, and, even the, touching the silvered parts willl destroy the silvering

To me it looks like the glue looking stuff is actually where the silver has come off.

The silvering?

maybe someone used some glue to seal them before and got too much in?

You'll know when you try and get them apart, because that looks suspiciously like an epoxy resin, and they won't be coming apart if it is

will do, tbh as my current light aren't worth much ill probably take the indicator reflectors out of them and fit them to these.

Is there anything I can use to wipe over the inside of the lense once I get them apart?? theres a few marks and bit of dust on the lens, just don't want to end up cocking anything up as these are jdm hid's so not cheap to find another set lol

The inside of the LENS can be cleaned and even polished using fine cutting compound. if it just needs a wipe, use an impregnated cloth such as are sold to clean specs and camera lenses.

Try NOT to touch any silvered reflecting surface. The silvering is on top, and VERY easily damaged.

may just give it a wipe over with cotton cloth, there fairly soft, so should leave any marks

would of thought it would be ok to use inside the lens?? Sure if a cutting compound is ok, a soft cotton cloth would be??

I think we are at cross purposes.

The lens, the clear bit, yes you can clean it, polish it, what you like.

But my advice not to touch the silvering, the reflector, at all, holds good.

No probs.
Thing is, most people think the coating is on the rear of the reflector, so they can polish away...and it's not.
