Small Battery
What are my options for a road car with regards to shrinking my battery? Can I get anything much smaller than stock whilst still retaining it's ability to crank me every morning with the alarm etc running?
I know there are lots of race/rally types available, but I'm not sure on their suitability for a daily.

Iv got an Odyssey race battery on mine held down in an OBP alloy bracket. It has an alarm & starts fine, the only time it struggles is if it's stood for several days as the alarm will drain it. Evry now & then I put the charger on it to top it right up, perhaps once evry couple of months or if it ever sounds slow to turn over.

All I know is, don't get a braille battery. I had one and it was nothing but trouble. In a race car, it would probably be great, but on a daily driver which might get left for a couple days,..... Useless.

That battery only just fits in that location but frees up so much space it's great. You need to remove the coolant tank from the inner wing before drilling any holes though to avoid drilling through it. Iv also put my washer bottle in the boot now as I was sick of removing it evry time I worked on the car & it frees up even more space. The other option is put the battery in the boot, which I would do if the small battery didn't work, but I don't like the idea of all that live cable running the full car length.
