Default Head light problems....

Hi all ...
One of my HID lights had blown so I brought 4 more ....Don't ask lol
They are hi/lo beam 35w 10,000k H4..
Ive just replaced the one that wasn't working and still no good, so I then unplugged the one what was working and connected a new set ..and nothing?
So I then just connected the original (what was working)and now that's not even working .........?

I don't get it ....now I have no lights apart from full beam ?

10,000K

don't you WANT to be able to see?
10,000K produces around half the light of a STANDARD 55W halogen bulb.

Off to eat my tea, will write more in a bit.

you would be FAR, FAR better off with 5000K, or 4300K if you can get it...AND they attract less attention from the Dibble.

Anyway..........

HID units consist of TWO bits, the bulb, or, as it should be known, the burner, and a ballast unit, which converts the 12V from the car's electrics to around 20,000V to put across the terminals of the burner, to provide the discharge...High Intensity Discharge.

So....you probably have a problem with a ballast.

You need to find them, and swap them over, side to side, see if the problem still exists.

I'd also suspect the new "bulbs"........

Hmm glad I stumbled across this, one of my hid's has just stopped working to. The lamp fires up but then goes out after a few seconds. Bad ballast possibly...
