Folding wing mirrors
Hi guys
I have an RB5 and want to fit folding mirrors,
Question is will the loom already in my car support the mirrors so I can just plug into and fit a switch or is it more complicated than that?
Has anybody fitted them to a classic as an upgrade?
Is there a how to guide?
And finally can the outer casing of the mirrors be removed?
Hope you can help out guys
Cheers Daz.

Depending on the year of the RB5, it might be an easy upgrade, the wiring MAY be in place, with just a new switch and a pair of mirrors necessary.
If you remove the doorcards, have a look how many wires going to the mirrors. If there are two more going IN to the connectors than coming out to the mirrors, it's a cinch.
Even if those two aren't there, I have a set of step by step instructions I can e-mail to you, they are written in word, and detail everything you need including how to remove and refit doorcards.
You can get the guts out of a classic mirror, it involves heating the glass and removing that first, then two or three bolts.
Let me know if you want a set of instructions for the mirror upgrade, and PM me your email address. I don't have instructions for how to take the mirrors apart, but gather it's not difficult.
