Does or has anyone used one of these solar panel chargers you just plug into *** socket and leave on dash while car not being used to keep battery topped up?
They any gud, worth it.
The one I've been looking at is a 12v 4.5w one.
Any help is appreciated.

I use one on my Bug Wagon and previously my Skyline, 3.6W trickle charge. Seems to keep the battery sharp and better than nothing.

The higher watt ratings maybe a better option for some people.

Bought a 1.5w one from maplins and its not worth a w@&k to be honest. Defo worth getting a higher watt one.

My cig socket is only live when ignition is on so have to use the croc clips straight to the battery

Tryin to figure out how to make it permently live so I can use the socket.

What sort of wattage is safe without using a regulator?
Looked at some 8.5w ones earlier, not expensive either.
Any one clued up on this sort of think?
