Default Sigma

My car is fitted with a Sigma alarm (05 JDM STI).Some times the fob wont open or close the doors but the indicaters always flash. I have to open the door with the key when this happens. Locking and unlocking several times with the key usually gets the fob to work. Has anyone else had this problem? Steve.

Sounds as if the problem is more with the door lock actuator rather than the alarm.............

Thanks for your reply Don. I think you are right when you say it,s an actuator problem. I,ll have a look when I get a bit of time and better weather. Steve.

very odd for an actuator fault. we see far more sigma control box & siren failures than anything else. as a starting point we would re-learn the keys to the car to make sure it's not a communication issue.

if you leave the door open and press the fob does the siren chirp at you ??
If not then it's possible this is faulty, as they use a digital coded signal system it's physically impossible to do any tests on it other than swap the siren with a good known unit.

As it's a JDM model it probably won't have the standard UK double locking arrangement, so it could be down to where the alarm has been wired into the door lock control circuitry.

Rob, just tried the fob with the door open and it does make a chirping sound. Steve.
