Default Switched live help?

Hi I'm looking for a switched live on the left hand side of engine bay ideally just above the air filter under the plastic cover...

It's a 2003 bug eye impreza wrx

Phew...not asking for much, are you?

TBH, the only SAFE way to do what you are proposing is to use something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-CIRCUI...item563a0e4542 to probe wires while the other end is on the battery -ve.
once it lights up, check that it goes OFF when ignition is switched off and Robert is your mother's brother.

ANY other way is fraught with difficulty, especially asking for wiring colours, the wiring changes so much on these cars you could be given duff info.

I'm not great with auto electrics so was just asking incase anyone had gone down this route before ill get the old volt gauge out tomorrow and have a play as the light was going quick and had to tidy up

You dont need to be good with them mate, What are you actually powering off this live if i may ask before i tell you a few

Digital boost gauge mate wanted to have the sender unit out the way and not route the vac pipe through the bulk head

I know what you have just said mate but hide the sender behind the dash and wire it from the keyed live in the colum, The vac pipe can be routed so its almost concealed mate, This way will be far easier than faffing with lives under the bonnet

Mount it near the boost solenoid between the airbox and strut, Fit the vac pipe and then take a wire into the dash from the sensor via the black grommet on the bulkhead

That's where It is at the
Min was hoping to take a switched live off one of the plugs there

You`re gonna need a connection between the sensor and the gauge anyway are you not?

No mate iv put the solenoid and the module in the engine bay just has the wiring going straight into the screen on the dash so have live switched live and a earth in engine bay
