The car in question is a '54 wrx wagon. The interior light in the roof between the front seats works ok with the switch, but does not work when you open the doors. Any suggestions? I'm hoping somebody can tell me its a common fault and easily fixed . Oh, and I have made sure the switch on the light is in the correct position

Does it open when you open ANY door?

If not, it's likely to be the switch on the roof unit. I'd pull the unit and examine the switch contacts etc.

no, no door operates the light. ill pull it out later and take a look, cheers.
