Default Best H1 Headlamp Bulb?

I am going to be removing the HID kit that I have fitted to my Blobeye Spec C soon as I don't like the extra wiring in the engine bay, and being a fussy sod I would rather just fit some uprated bulbs.

Plus of course there is the debate about light scatter plus the new VOSA test regulations now in place in regards to non factory fitted HID fitments.

Having done a little research I have more or less decided on Osram Night Breakers or Phillips Xtreme bulbs, but does anyone else have a suggestion on what they would recommend?

Either of the above, Halfords Ultra Brilliance when on BOGOF are worth the money, as are GE Megalights.

I'm using osram cool blue intense h1 bulbs in my blob at the moment along with the cool blue intense sidelights.

I can't fault them, they are very bright.

Looks like it's the Osram Night Breakers it is then, I think I will change the main beam HB3/9005 bulbs at the same time as well.

Given the price difference and reviews I have read the Osram are a better deal than the Philips.

Me I`d go for Halfords Rally bulbs, yes they are Halfords, and yes they not a mega branded bulb. But much better light production and had them for over 5 years in one car and over a year in my Impreza, and the light production is nearly comparable to HIDs which I removed as they caught fire lol.

Most halfords bulbs are made by GE, and when on BOGOF are unbeatable value.

In summer, when NOT on BOGOF, they are silly money

I'll pop into my local Halfords and have a look, I'll use my trade card and see what kind of price the Rally bulbs are - hopefully the trade card might finally be of some use.

Oh, I ought to say that I just removed HID H1 kit from my Blob headlights, as the inside of the lense had gone sort of opaque, and we suspect HID was to blame?

In other news, I have a H1 HID kit for sale ;p

Just for info the BOGOF offer is currently on at Halfords for those wanting some. It's on the ultra/extreme/super brilliance bulbs. Think I'll be nipping down later!

Worth having at BOGOF, their bulbs are/were made by GE, not in the far east.
