Default Help please

Evening all

Just a quick question that some one may know. On my classic i have a few lights out on the centre console

As you can see apart from the headlight angle switch the other two bulbs are dead. Does anyone know how to replace the bulbs?

Thank you

Can't see what the switches are.....and it's too dark to go and look at mine.

Are you sure they are SUPPOSED to be lit up?

The switches on mine use tiny little wire-ended bulbs, available from Maplins or e-bay at around £1.29 each. http://www.maplin.co.uk/wire-endedfilament-type-1954

It's not hard to replace them once the switch is out, but:

PATIENCE, good lighting, tweezers and wire clippers, plus do it on paper over a decent work surface, not on your knee

I'm not sure either are supposed to light up.
I'll chack in a few minutes on mine.

Can't see either in daylight.........

I think SCOOBYTOWERS' old thread had full details, but it's not too difficult.

You have to prise the switch out, disconnect it and work over a hard surface. There are small parts involved, so I also put down a sheet of printer paper.

Once the switch is out, turn it over and you will see how it comes apart.
Work carefully so as not to let any small parts disappear.

The illumination bulb is fitted to a small bulb holder by having it's wire tails threaded and wrapped...you can see how it's been done, undo the tails with tweezers etc and remove the bulb. Refit the new one as the old one was, then snip any spare tail off with sharp cutters/scissors.

Rebuild the switch and refit.

Almost takes longer to type than to do

Alcazar has described how its done

If you need more detailed instructions they can be found here (you may need to register to view the thread) - http://www.ladsoc.co.uk/forum/viewto...95df01c816b2bf

The fog bulbs are dead easy, but the rear screen switch strip down can be tricky.

If your still not confident after reading the thread, I used to offer an exchange service for one thats had its bulbs checked/changed - just drop me a PM.
