Yes, there are actually about three different types:

93-97: pre-facelift, fluted lens, more rounded inner edge, slightly lower in height.
97-98: first facelift, fluted lens, straighter inner edges, slightly taller.
99-00: second facelift: as above but with clear lens and multi-facet reflector. Known as CRYSTAL lights.

But be careful: there are lots of crystal lights out there, both OE and aftermarket.

Have a close look at the undamaged one and see if you can find the maker's name.

Try and buy one with the same name.

Nail on head, Jeff.

Hard to tell from the pic, as the markings along the bottom of the undamaged one aren't very clear.

Probably made by Depo.

Crystal lights also came on late '98 cars......

The pain years are '97 and '98 as they can be a mismatch of whatever was left in the parts bins!!

General rule of thumb, for facelift headlights, if it has a pre-facelift front bumper and a facelift bonnet it'll have the facelift shaped headlight with the fluted lense

If it has the facelift front bumper with facelift bonnet it'll have crystal headlights.

That bumper/grille combination should be fitted with the last set of lights: clear lens, multi-facet refector.
They are known as crystal lights, sometimes facelift crystal.

Does the car have electrical adjustment to the lights? If so, you'll need one with that facilty, although you CAN swap the motor off the old one, but you can't EASILY swap the motor onto one designed for manual adjust.

Almost all the aftermarket lights out there are manual adjust, so if you get an electrical one, it's odds on to be an OE one.

They go for around £30-£50 each.

Thats the same as on my genuine Subaru lights. Does it have Subaru just a bit to one side of those numbers/letters?

There you go you have genuine Subaru crystal headlights, that will be what you need to replace it. It will have electric adjust on it too....

That's what I thought, but mine have plastic covers over them and I can't read the writing on the lens any more with them on.
