Hawkeye STi Dash Cluster to BlogEye Rewiring??
I understand that its easy enough to swap out a BlobEye Dashboard green cluster for the red Hawkeye with the startup sweep test but have read that some of the lights....diff temp i think stay on and some rewiring is needed!?. Is there a guide anywhere which goes into detail what actually needs rewiring...if anything?
Also is the sweep test on ignition startup built into the dash cluster itself on the hawkeye.....will this sweep test working in my BlobEye??

The sweeping is built into the clocks and will do this on start up
You have to swap the left and right connector as these plug the opposite way round, Ie plug the left into the right etc.. and trim a small bit of one of the connectors but you will see which bit when you try to plug them in.
Diff temp and poss handbrake light will stay on as these work the opposite way round, I know that Andrew Carr(Mapper) has removed these on my mates MY05, You can always lift the front of the speedo off and blank off any offending lights from behind

Cheers for the info, regarding the handbrake and Diff temp lights i think i read somewhere that these can be fixed by reversing the polarity of the 2 wires that power these 2 lights.....can anyone confirm this??
I take it this will still read my correct millage if i swap out the dash cluster??

Yep, think it was me that posted to reverse the polarity, I know it can be done just not 100% how to do it as it was done by a mapper on my mates car.
The clocks have a small chip in them that records the milage, it can be swapped but probably just as easy getting them altered by an auto sparky

Damn, I really didn't think it would be soo easy to get the millage changed, I guess alot of untrusting subaru sellers could make car look alot lower millage than what they really are?? Is this chip a pull and place or is it soldered on?? Is there an official way about going about this as I would like it documented somehow for resale purposes, otherwise they might start asking questions if they notice it has a different dash cluster in.
Regarding the polarity reversal I take it a auto sparky would be able to sort this out fairly easy?? So I take it for the handbrake light, when the handbrakes off the light on the dash is on and when the handbrake is on the light if off?

So I take it it's not the actual handbrake that's setting that light off then as I think a couple of other devices use the same warning light like abs and one other so it may be one of them setting it off??
Gaz can your mate remember what mapper did his?? He didn't just blank them out did he?

Looking on the thread that fawor posted above it would appear that to get the Diff light to work correctly is to ground it! Now i know the nasioc forum is for US cars, but maybe this gound method will work for the Handbrake aswell???
