HID headlight alignment problem - advice please
Jon MC fitted some Sti HIDs to my 51 Plate WRX Wagon which I bought on here no probs. As advised took it to an MOT station, Kwik Fit (OK don't laff) who set things up for no charge.
LHS both vertical and horizontal adjusted just right. RHS vertical too was spot on.
However, the RHS horizontal beam stubbornly refused to lower to the correct level on the rig. The mechanic said it was adjusted as far as it would go.
Back home, I dismantled the unit to find the adjuster wheel turned freely but with no effect in one direction. In the other the beam rose up easily but however many turns it wouldn't go any lower than before. I've carefully refitted it and I'm sure its located correctly.
I'm baffled. Anyone had a similar problem?

It's headlights will adjust DOWN, but won't come back up......you have to strip each light and rebuild the adjuster mechanism within.
Took me ages when some muppet MoT station adjusted them right down.........while the suspension wasn't operating so the car wasn't level

Certainly is on mine, you remove the headlight and you can see the problem, the adjuster is fairly easy to remove...
Not sure about Scoobs, the Xantia is 1999, and more modern cars aren't meant for the man in the street to be able to repair.
So long asit's not got the auto-levelling setup, you ought to be OK.
I mean, SOMEONE put it together..... at least that's what I always tell myself when I'm struggling to get stuff apart
