Airbag light on after steering wheel swap.
I have put a blobeye steering wheel onto my bugeye and now the airbag light is on. I have heard that by chopping into the airbag looms it's possible to get the light to go out.
Has anyone know how to do this?

With the airbag connector on the clock spring. Have been told that I may need to splice the bugeye connector onto the blobeye clock spring wiring to turn the light off.

when i did my steering wheel swap I noticed part numbers on airbag charge where different so I swapped charges between the two wheels to make sure no issues, worked fine and that was a blob wrx 4 spoke wheel charge fitted to a my05 sti 3 spoke wheel, if light is on and you have replaced airbag maybe a fault on that or a problem with your wiring, not worth disabling airbag with a resister if you have airbag fitted,

I have got a blob clock spring fitted, I have read on here though that the connectors can be different even on the same model so guess I am just unlucky.
Frayz's Sti prodrive also had to have the wiring modified to lose the airbag light as did a few others.
Fingers crossed as I'm going to have a go this weekend.

All i did was get the correct air-bag connection and was sorted, no actual difference to the clock spring on visual inspection,
Again the airbag link loom is plugged in so if you have both types of clock spring you can try the original clock spring with the new air-bag loom,
the single black wire changed location from the 4 to the 3 spoke(main frame on 3 spoke, tucked away on 4 spoke),
The fact that the same resistor is used to remove the air-bag light says there isnt any difference in resistance of the air-bag systems between the models,
so imo you have a fault on the CS or AB.

After re-reading your last post I think I may be missing the single black wire.
Does the wire plug into the clock spring next to where the green horn connector goes?
If so this maybe mystery solved

. I also picked his brains about the mot changes and he said that he has just completed a refresher course and that airbag lights, HID kits, remap etc aren't 100% going to be in next years MOT as they are just suggestions.
There are a few things that was meant to be in this years MOT but for one reason or another didn't get included so no need to panic yet.
He also said swapping the wires on My clock spring should do the job and turn The light off. Another job for my week off.

Good oh, my son's Festa 1.25 may get another years reprieve then. Mind you the airbag light is the only fault on the car. Unlike my wife's Festa Zetec S which overheats like a pig with no sign of ever fixing it. Even the local Ford garage don't know what's wrong with the damned thing.
