Ignition problem?
Got home last night and went to turn off the car and the key wouldn't
turn. Took some jiggling and she finally shut off(my97 UK T2000 wagon).
Any idea's?
Is the ignition barrel fooked/on it's way out?
Also noticed that my cd player had no lights on in
the display,wouldn't work.

Well it did it again this morning with the added annoyance
of the windscreen wipers not working either??
Anybody any idea's?
Although when I left work the wipers and radio were
working again???
I am thinking a electrical short somewhere although I know
nothing about electrics.

Sounds like the ignition switch is either on it's way out, or badly worn.
You could look for another from a breakers, or price one from a dealer. I'd go for the latter, since an old one might do the same again.
I've had to replace a doorlock that was badly worn on my 98 car.
Alternatively, could it be the KEY? I've ALSO had to have a new key made, since my old one became almost impossible to turn in the ignition (No fob operated central locking, so it gets some hammer).
When I compared it to the spare I never use, it WAS obviously worn.
A new key with transponder chip is £80+..........

Key was a new one cut about 2 years ago so I don't
think it is that. Think I am gonna try and get a replacement
ignition barrel and try it.
As for the wipers and stereo working randomly do
you have any idea's, am I right in thinking it's
a short in the wiring somewhere and not connected
to the ignition problems??
