Default Electric window - passenger side Type R

Hi all,

The passenger side electric window on my Type R is a bit on the tired side. It moves up and down very slowly.

Is this a common problem? Any ideas of the cause? I suspect I will just need to buy a new motor but wondered if anyone has had it and solved doing something different?

many thanks
rossi

You could try removing the whole shebang, cleaning and re-greasing moving parts, clean out all the runners etc, might save you a few bob.

Easy job?

I guess it start with removing the door card and going from there..

Siggested grease? Normal/lithium or another kind of lube (wd40?)?

Much appreciated.

Easy enough, but fiddly and you need double jointed wrists, plus a helper at times.

And yes, I'd use Lithium grease, Screwfix sell one as an aerosol.
