Great thread as like you bit confused about the alarm on my 2005 uk blobeye ??!! there is no chip upon activation/ de activation. the alarm sensor is not located within the drivers side pillar trim so not even sure where the sensor ??!!

my key is nothing like the ones in the link, only has open / lock functions on it, alpha corp written on the back.

very limited range ie. you actually have to be almost at the car itself to work the remote.

would be nice to find out from other owners if the 2005 uk wrx blobeye alarm had other features and where the sensor may be in the car ??

Mine is in the pillars (but STi) would be better to have the chirp! Agree the range is dog poo, gf's fiesta works about 4 times the distance of mine! If I buy a performance car I need a performance fob!!

I've just looked through my (blob) Subaru alarm operating intstructions and there is no mention of being able to make it chirp on arming/disarming, only chirp when door is left open. Shame.

You're right about the range as well, its total pants and it seems to have got worse for me since i tinted the windows!

If I recall, the distance thing helps stop signal interception on fobs (although they are meant to be proof against that, I don't think any car alarm is ).

I'd rather have a shorter distance on an STi than a fiesta! But it IS annoying.

Weve got a cobra on ours (05) blob wrx it doesnt chirp either, and you have to either go right up to window or stand at back of car in line with rear view mirror. Doesnt work anywhere else we thought it was battery in spare remote that was at fault, but we got brand new fob from cobra and its exactly the same.

Always thought I should read through the Alarm manual, I knew there would be more features. I've never used the key pad in the money tray once.

Interesting feature for leaving the car when going away, just hope I have the Pin number!

Just turned the "chirp" on and played around with a few other settings. All seem to work!

As mentioned post 3 and then the 3rd page tells you the the programming code to do this.
Or did you already do it, and are just saying its not in the manual you looked at?

I turned mine on but it was not a chirp, it was the same buzz as when a door is left open so I turned it off. Nasty noise!

So is there a way to get a chirp or is it just that ugly buzz?
