Default bugeye rears to blobeye rears lights

i have recently got hold of some rear lights off a sti blobeye and gona fit as i have read that they a straight swap with a minor adjustment to the light at the bottom , do you have to re seal these lights as the ones that came off the blobeye have the original foam back seals and no sign of any other sealant just the foam backs

All I did was rip of the foam bit on the back of the lights at the bottom and fit them. I've nit had any leaks.

I thought the bumper had to be changed to a blob eye bumper to fit the lights?

No they go on to a bugeye easily but do stick out at the bottom by about 1cm which I can live with for the transformation it makes
