What would one need to do to create push button start on a MY94 WRX wagon?
Wiring diagram would be nice?
what parts do you need?
I know you can get a kit from richbrook, but I don't like the look of the switch, so would ideally want to use a scooby foglight switch, if at all possible.

have looked at the richbrook one, but I'm not really wanting to pay 35 quid for one. or am I being cheap?

How about getting the start button from the S2000 - probably less than the one you are looking at.
As an aside, there is another sort of push start, but you need a couple of large mates ...

someone else mentioned laguna as well.
On a more serious note, would this effect my immobilisor and tracker? guessing not as you still use the key to put it to the 'on' position, it's just the button replaces the final 'twist' to start, this sound correct?

Had a look at the Richbrook website last night which lead me to www.speeding.co.uk who had these starters and loads of other kit. They also do free delivery in the UK. Needless to say the credit card took a bit of a pounding.

Edied due to crappy spelling.

Sorry to pee on your fireworks, but you *cannot* use a foglamp switch.
The action of the start button is to engage the starter, and once the engine has started and you release the button it cuts off the current and thus releases the starter solenoid. This is effectively the same way the key works - when the key returns to the run position after it has started it releases the starter solenoid and the starter motor drive dog gear.
If you have an on/off switch like a foglamp one, rather than a push/release under it's own spring one that always cuts the power off, there is a danger that you will not actually release the switch and cut the starter current off and then the engine will be driving the starter dog mechanism - not a good idea.
If you are going to do this (and i'm not saying you shouldn't, only the type of switch to use), a switch such as the type of push on/automatically switch off one that TVR/Honda and others use will be a necessity.
