Default Pre facelift Morettes on a post facelift classic

I have bought some Morettes off of a 95 classic for my 98 UK classic, which I think has a facelift front, but am wondering if they will fit?

Here is the front of my car:

I can find lots of posts re fitting later lights to earlier cars, but not vice versa (which is logical!).

Are all Morettes effectively pre facelift?

Thanks

Grant

From memory, genuine Morettes were facelift only. Yours is the 1st facelift, there was a later one incorporating revised grill and bumper.

Is your car caged? Looks like it in the pic.

As stated, you have an early facelft. Everything is pre-facelift except the bonnet and grille. Even if they are pre-facelift shaped they'll still fit, just maybe a little 'gappage' around the bonnet to headlight shut area.
Have you a pic of the items?

You're ok imo, even thought the listing states '94, they look remarkably like facelift items to me. (top right corner has an angle and it comes to a point at the bottom by the grille, pre-faclifts are curved all the way around)

Just coz they 'say' they're '94 doesn't mean they are......

They aren't advertised as 94 if you read the listing properly Says his car is '94, thats it!

They were advertised as coming with the car but never fitted. Imo they are facelift items, as they are completely the wrong shape for a '94 Impreza with original bonnet/grille. (prob the reason they were never fitted!) Some of my bargains have been found like this when the seller has been a little vague or geuinely didn't know what model they were off
It pays to read between the lines

They look like facelift and will fit fine, only get gaps if you fit them to prefacelifts like mine. Look ok if a specific mod but not as a daily

FWIW they went for top dollar given the condition

Genuine Morettes were ONLY made to fit facelift cars. Yours is one, so there will be no problem.

Doesn't matter if you have a phase one or phase two facelift, the headlight SHAPE was the same, as was the edge of the grille, even though the later grille pokes further forwards..

I figured at that price they were a bargain, but was taking a little gamble! Will let you know when they arrive as suspect they will need a little work.

There is a risk I will mod one for race use, but will see- car is still in road spec with a few engine and safety mods, but may change to modified production this year.
