Default Sigma alarming arming problem

My 02 STi UK Sigma alarm is playing up. When I go into the car (with alarm not armed) and turn on the ignition and then press the alarm fob, it won't bring in the relay and hence the red led light doesn't illuminate and the car won't turn over.

I've checked the fob batteries which measuring 3.11v so I don't think these are low.

The car battery is a Calcium job and is pretty new but I don't use my car regularly.

Any suggestions before I go to the dealer?

Thanx!
