clifford concept600 siren not working
The clifford concept600 on my new impreza seems to be playing up,the alarm arms and disarms fine but there is no chirp from the siren and also on full alarm(when triggered) there is no sound)
I am led to beleive the siren has its own battery could this be the problem?
Many thanks in advance

Yes the battery is knackered. Unfortunately you cannot get the battery anymore so will you will have to replace the siren unit. I still have to fit mine yet as work keeps getting in the way.

I'm afraid I think the alarm sounds from the car's battery unless it's disconnected in which case it relies on the alarm's backup. Also I think the lack of chirps generally is intended to inform you about the state of charge of the battery in your remote rather than any battery in the car. In the circumstances of no sounds at all from your siren, I guess you have to suspect a fault with the siren or alarm itself unfortunately.
Good to know about the ebay siren batteries though, thanks to above poster for that. Can't tell what type of cells they are from the pic (I guess maybe C-cells) but I'm a bit tempted to do some DIY with some spare AA NiMHs. Anyone any idea why the ebay and Clifford ones have such low capacity? I've never seen a NiHM cell with 400mAH capacity, C-cells seem to have capacity around 4x this.

I have bought a new siren from ebay without battery backup just now just to rule out the problems.I took apart the siren last night and triggered the alarm, checked with the voltmeter at the siren and im getting 13volts there so hopefully its just the siren.
I will replace the siren with a battery backup item if it works with the new one.
