Lockwood white dials - Just don't do it!
Ok, so I bought a "nice" set of Lockwood white dials for my '97 WRX STi.
Following the fitting instructions carefully and using the recommended tools, including two tea spoons for needle removal, my dials were finally fitted. They looked lovely.
All back in the car and ready to go... I thought.
Various parts didn't work properly including the temperature guage and rev counter. Temp was easily sorted, I'd just got the new faces a bit tight. Rev counter on the other hand.... nightmare.
The clocks have now been in and out about 6+ times and I've finally given up with the rev counter. It just won't work properly!
I've since ordered a set of standard clocks off the internet. So there you go folks, I'm back at square one. Cost?
£35.00 - White dials
£110 - Replacement set of clocks
£145.00 - Down the s*it pan!
Lockwood white dials? Just don't go there! Learn from me, it cost enough for the lesson.
Rich.
P.S. They looked awful in the dark anyway!
