Unhappy Help please hid problem

Hi I am having trouble with a h1 hid conversion on a uk sti bugeye.
The problem I am experiancing is the lights work fine but occasionally when the indicator cancels both lights flicker
if I try to replicate the problem by indicating then letting the indicator cancel the problem is not always there.
So far I have taken the conversion back to the seller to be tested no problem found I have taken the indicator stalk out taken apart cleaned and regreased no different
any ideas please ??

Regards

Jon
forgot to add I think it does it with the halegen bulbs in but it is not quite as noticable

Sounds like an intermittent fault at the indicator stalk. Check all connectors nearby.

Check your earthing and lives for continuity. I would be looking for something that is common across the lights such as an earth.

Default HIDS problem, please help

Hi, I have 8k hids on my classic fitted in crystal headlights, they have been fine for a good few months, but all of a sudden when i turn them on, within about 3 seconds they both just turn off?? so i switch them off, back on and still nothing! I do this about 5/6 times and all of a sudden they turn on again. SOMETIMES they stay turned on. But thats getting rarer by the day. I have no idea about hids - so can anyone please help me on which maybe the problem here? thanks, mike

Have you checked the relays - they can suffer with vibration if not mounted properly, alternatively I would suspect the ballasts

I would also suspect the ballasts.

But 8000K? REALLY? Can you actually see anything? They give out LESS usable light than an equivalent halogen.........

My old ones sometimes used to flicker, and it was because the ballast on one side had come loose from where I'd mounted it.
The relays in the older kits commonly get waterlogged and then rust and fail as a result meaning they won't switch on at all. To the poster who's lights don't come on at all - if you have a relay that just plugs in, unplug it and have a look at the terminals - if they're rusted to hell that's probably your issue.

The newer kits seem to have relays in sealed waterproof units inline in the wiring so you don't get the problem anymore. Kit I bought recently from Aztec actually was a cinch to fit in comparison to the first ones they did which I bought. Quality was fine and the ballasts are SO much slimmer, really does seem like these kits have come a long way since they first started getting churned out from the far east.
